Allowable reasons for in-person absentee voting are enumerated below. Absentee voting requires an excuse and should not be confused with early voting. Voters may participate in absentee voting for the following reasons that preclude them from taking part in the Canvass:
- Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces may request an absentee ballot by April 16, 2022, and be received by mail by Friday, May 20, 2022 at 4 p.m.
- Working/commuting to/from home during the timeframe of voting on May 21, 2022
- Out of County during the timeframe of voting on May 21, 2022
- Personal business or vacation during the timeframe of voting on May 21, 2022
- Religious belief or practice
- Medical reasons (e.g., scheduled procedure)
